The CHIC DNA Repository collects and stores canine DNA samples along with corresponding genealogic and phenotypic information to facilitate future research and testing aimed at reducing the incidence of inherited disease in dogs. The data is completely confidential and accessible by scientists around the world.
Our initiative is to assist breeders in submitting full litters of DNA blood samples to the repository. AMHPRF asks that you provide information to identify each puppy in the litter, and we will send you all the supplies needed, including shipping label and instructions for you and your vet. We will even include copies of the OFA Health History form for each puppy and email reminders to update the information. The only cost to you is the fee charged by your vet to draw the blood samples. If this is cost prohibitive for you, please contact us so we can try to negotiate with your veterinarian.
